Are you a parent/carer of a child that would like to promote more outdoor play with your young ones? Are you a school that has a patch of land with some trees simply calling to be played in but lacks the knowledge and guidance to deliver Forest Schools? Are you a club/home school group/organisation that would like to hold a nature day? Or has your child always wanted to have a party in the woods? Here at Nelly’s Den we can provide all things nature based with a good dollop of fun!
Wouldn’t it be great if every adult could think back to when they were younger and immediately be transported back to those formative years by the smell of forest dew, the dampness of forest leaves and moss, the sound of creaky trees in the wind, the hypnotic flame of a camp fire, the vision of smokey mist as it winds itself through the trees and the rustle of earths creatures big and small foraging on the forest floor. Wild play is what forest school sessions can deliver to ensure children and young people experience a balance of connecting with nature, outdoor learning, play and bush craft skills that all combine to help children to build self-esteem and confidence and learn to handle risk and responsibility and practice problem solving through appropriate and achievable tasks. Skills that are vital for life-long learning but all experienced in a fun, enjoyable way at your child’s own pace.
